Perhaps this fact is lost on the morons working to pass this bill.
The morons working to pass this bill know that criminals don’t follow the law. This bill isn’t designed to stop gun crime. It’s designed to turn 2,500,000 republicans into criminals, so that they’ll either give up their guns, or leave the state. Great point – thanks for the reality check. Guess I spend a lot of time in denial and the mistaken belief that politicians are there to serve us, not their party. Stupid, stupid me!
Lots of gun laws already in the criminal code. States Attorneys like Foxx simply do not prosecute these crimes to the fullest extent of the law. Repeat gun offenders regularly walk out of court with smiles on their faces as charges are reduced or dropped. New laws that punish a “thing” or are a “thing” are senseless. Inanimate objects do not commit crimes. Will there be a rush of gang members, drug dealers and car jackers to register those firearms that have been banned? LOL, this bill isn’t designed to stop gun crime. This bill is designed to punish you, the Republican. They want you to leave the state. And if you won’t leave, they’ll imprison for a long time, and wreck your life, merely for owning the magazine that your gun came with. They’re looking for a way to remove 2,500,000 Republicans from the state and turn it 90% Democrat in every election, in every jurisdiction.
Legal challenges are absolutely certain when this passes, & it will pass…

So someone who is a police officer, on duty on Sunday who has been carrying a department authorized firearm that holds 18 rounds, pretty standard, and retires on Monday become a hard core felon because of that duty firearm they have carried for 30 yrs?
I had a conversation the other day with a cop about his gun collection. He thinks it’s nuts, and hopes it will never be enforced or pass. He was also concerned that the minute he quits or is fired, his entire M4 platform will be illegal, as well as other weapons in his possession. Furthermore, he just couldn’t get over the fact that he swore an oath to serve the public and purchased equipment in good faith with his own money to carry out duties. Turning innocent gun owners into criminals while passing laws to treat criminals with kindness and respect and letting them out the back door of the court house as fast as they walked in. What is wrong with democrats?
The stupid chickens keep electing the same crowd, so it must be okay with the majority of IL voters.
