Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Well I don’t quite see it that way. I expect Mexican and Chinese will become more efficient a dispencing justice than our current woke system. Hood rats will soon get the message and move onto easier pickings on the North side.
Quite frankly, illegal immigrants selling unlicensed tamales, while cheating on their taxes, is part of Chicago’s ‘experience the third world only twenty miles from your home’. So I don’t really care what happens to the tamale vendors. However, I don’t think the answer should be street thugs mugging them, no one deserves that, but the city’s health department should be doing something about this. Also, Lori is so out of touch, these illegals are ‘unbanked’ and cannot go cashless because without social security numbers, they cannot get bank accounts.
