Ted was on Chicago’s Morning Answer to talk about who will make it to the Chicago mayoral runoff, the growth of crime in 2023, the Chicago Teacher Union’s election financing scandal and its extreme powers, the state’s dismal education results, the DeSantis visit to Illinois and more.

If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
Apparently that spend on Johnson isn’t looking like such a bad investment. I still don’t think Johnson wins in the runoff but it certainly sets the tone for future power grabs by CTU. Better hope Vallas can peel off some votes from Chuy, Lightfoot, and Willie.
At some point even the CTU dullards will realize their poodle Brandon isn’t going to win and their dream of a communist city council isn’t happening. The CTU will then resort to Plan B, unrestrained violence
I mean, just look at the pic of them – a crazed mob foaming at the mouth.
Thanks to the CTU Illinois is now the most disliked state in the Union.
They have destroyed the quality of life for millions of hardworking families. The only choice they have left is to Flee to another state and they are in the hundreds of thousands every year.
IL is the joke of the country. Tell people in Red States where you are from and it’s like ‘Oh, are you a Zombie?’
There is an online program today from Harvard Education Press themed “How Do We Improve Schools for Students of Color?” that some (few) may wish to watch. I cannot vouch for the content of the program but interested readers might be able to register at https://harvard.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_0FGid3y3TGCxhnd6ySIP2Q
I think the program is free and it begins at 5 PM Eastern Time.
Public Unions and their dark money PACS should be prohibited from contributing to any political candidates in their respective state(s). That’s how they remain in control over the voters. There’s no conflict of interest in paying off those who will vote, pass laws or lie about state constitutional amendments for union special interests??? Amendment 1 ring a bell???
Should businesses that donate money to politicians that promise less regulation and less taxes also be banned from donating money? What about wealthy individuals that benefit from lower taxes? The fact is that everyone that donates money to politicians has an interest in the outcome of the election or they wouldn’t donate.
All political donations should be outlawed. It is one of the main reasons our tax laws and regulations are so convoluted. It is why Congress picks winners and losers and creates damaging unintended consequences. It is why we have blown budgets annually. Of course, the politicians, as our “representatives,” must draft and pass such legislation. Fat chance.
As a libertarian, I used to would scoff at such an idea. I still believe that money is a tool to express free speech. However, I’m open to the idea that elections are a part of the public sector. The idea should be that voters find out about the actual merits and positions of the candidates, and there’s not a lot of evidence that ever increasing campaign spending actually accomplishes that. It does lavishly subsidize the media / big tech, and it has a lot of negative side effects.
No public union should exist. Chicago teachers are the most over paid lazy in the country
When a group’s motto is F**K THE POLICE” they are a malignant cancer on society

Educators that can’t educate?
They’re also among the highest paid. It’d be hard to duplicate this feat in the private sector.
And now we’re supposed to believe the CTU is overflowing with Republicans
Funny thing in a way as my downstate area is flipping from total Democrat rule to a more balanced rule that includes many Republicans. Guess what? The Republicans are as bad as the prior Democrats as in the old adage “Only the faces change.”
You can thank the IL Combine for that. Don’t vote for anyone endorsed by the Republican Committees in your county/region. They’re RINOS.
Yep. Many commenters think things would change so much for the better if Republicans were in charge. Things wouldn’t change much, because State of IL employees, whether Democrat or Republican, don’t want the gravy train of high salaries, cushy jobs, and huge pension and healthcare benefits to ever end.
This is an exaggeration. In no way are Republicans anywhere as bad as Democrats. Republicans can provide awful, terrible rule and be corrupt, but in my experience, they are *always* a much better alternative to the Democrats. 20 years ago, maybe there was an argument that occasionally a socially conservative Democrat as better than a liberal RINO. But today, in today’s political environment, I haven’t seen a single Republican anywhere in the country I’d replace with a Democrat under any circumstance. Even the most DINO of Democrats vote for Democrats 95% of the time.
CTU = Mafia.
Taxpayers and the students are their victims.
