Former Cook County Land Bank Authority worker pleads guilty to property scam – Chicago Sun-Times

Mustafaa Saleh, formerly an asset manager for the land bank, found bogus “straw buyers” to fraudulently purchase six properties from the authority. The properties were then redeveloped, resold or otherwise used for Saleh’s financial benefit, prosecutors said. Saleh is also believed to have formed a property maintenance company which was contracted by the land bank for more than $1 million for property maintenance.
