Cook County Health is bracing for a financial storm to pay for migrants’ health care – WBEZ (Chicago)

Sol Del Mar and her son Cuiman, refugees from VenezuelaAll told, the health system is anticipating at least a $40 million loss this year. There’s the cost of running the clinic for migrants and the possibility more health services will be needed as this population continues to swell. The state stopped contributing money to the clinic in February. Add to that, Cook County Health is bracing for a deluge of low-income patients losing their public Medicaid health insurance and becoming uninsured, yet still needing treatment but with perhaps no way to pay.

The costs of the programs and funding needed for the healthcare, housing, food and education of these people is going to bankrupt the country and remove benefits and services from actual tax payers in Illinois and the United States. Biden/Harris has caused the single most destructive action in this country’s history and they are both too stupid and corrupt to know or more importantly…care. This ship called the US, needs to make an abrupt turn and quick.

Venezuelans, who voted to ruin Venezuela, illegally migrate to Chicago to destroy it too. This woman shows up without a penny in her pocket and demands that we feed, clothe, house and treat her and her illegitimate child. This isn’t compassionate care, these are leeches burdening an already overwhelmed healthcare system.

No problem – Pritzker and Democrats can simply pay even less into the pension funds. Union bosses are ok.

You took the Cloward-Piven words right out of my mouth. Exactly what the Marxists are doing to this Country.

Painful to read. Migrants get access to free health-care and medical procedures, while gainfully-employed US citizens still find themselves in financial straits over medical bills, even to file for bankruptcy, because they can’t afford their medical bills.

Just remember no co pays, deductibles or other pesky out of pocket costs these first class Illinoisans have to pay.

And when the doctors in the city are full, they’ll drive their unregistered vehicle with no drivers license or insurance to your suburb for care. Enjoy!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
