“This is no longer a teachers union, this is a political group dedicated to pushing social justice, not education.” – Wirepoints on FOX News

Ted was on Fox News Special Report with Bret Baier to talk about how the Chicago Teachers Union has morphed into an organization more interested in pursuing “social justice” instead of helping students learn. Under their control, only 11 out of every 100 black students in Chicago can read at grade level, according to the Illinois State Board of Education’s most-recent data.

I’ll do you one better. The CPS has nothing to do with education.

Chicago Teachers Union are not teachers and are vermin. School choice for all will finally exterminate this plague. Janus ruling says that teachers can quit this pack of thieves. Any teacher who remains a willing member of this terrorist group has a special place in hell waiting for them.

One thing the Kansas City schools experiment in the 90’s demonstrated was just how important the schools were as a source of employment in an urban area like Kansas City. The federal judge directed billions in new taxes, and Kansas City (Missouri) showed no improvement, and diversity and achievement became worse notwithstanding the infusion of billions. There was no realistic way to improve teacher performance or upgrade the quality of teachers. The schools were such a key source of employment (along with the postal service and the transit system) that any action to bring about change would cause the school… Read more »

Here’s a video from John Stossel on public schools. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvCf0BfqVk8
He has many more under the title Stupid in America. He has one on the Kansas schools you mentioned. Here’s another but don’t click on the link at the bottom since you will be blocked. https://chalcedon.edu/resources/articles/a-review-of-stupid-in-america-how-we-cheat-our-kids

Freddy – the Kansas City schools litigation and “experiment” implemented thereafter in the 90’s is a stark reminder that money alone does not bring about desirable educational outcomes. This narrative is not often mentioned in an era where the mantra is that the schools don’t receive enough money. Clearly mistakes in Kansas City were made, among them the wrongful identification of the problem being that black students needed white students to attend their schools in greater numbers to increase learning. (Don’t get me wrong, segregation is not desirable, but it masked the real problems with the KC schools). The real… Read more »

I don’t know if you are familiar with this but there was a lawsuit costing hundreds of millions for taxpayers in the People Who Care vs Rockford Board of Education. https://caselaw.findlaw.com/court/us-7th-circuit/1375148.html The west side of Rockford had more black students while the East side had more white and allegedly more resources like IPad 20 (tech from the future) while the black students had one abacus with no beads. LOL. This resulted in integration and busing of kids all over the city. They were studying this case in law schools. Still today kids are being passed on the the next grade… Read more »

The best solution for conservative and Christian parents is to REMOVE their precious child(ren) from these government schools and place them in private, Christian campus schools, or homeschool. Churches all across our nation are starting Christian schools, and/or homeschooling pods. http://www.exodusmandate.org

School choice is definitely an option, but in my opinion it won’t solve the overarching problem. School choice makes sense from a fiscally conservative, individual sovereignty POV (ish), i.e. If I choose to send my kids to Catholic school, the portion of my property taxes used to pay for the local public school should be redirected to me or directly to my kid’s school. The overarching problem is multifaceted, but begins with this.. there aren’t enough non-failing, non-woke, non-whatever places to go. Even if 25% of parents want to up and move their kids, it will overwhelm the viable options.… Read more »

All of the phony progressive, DEI, BLM, etc rhetoric CTU spews out is simply cover for the fact that CPS delivers such incredibly crappy results at such astronomical prices ($30,000 per student). If CPS where a business who would invest in such an unproductive inefficient business? Obviously schools aren’t businesses but at some point accountability for the taxpayers $ spent has to matter. All while the majority of upper-income CTU are making well above +$100k with unbelievable guaranteed not to be diminish benefits…. A suggestion for future WP article/ research— instead of separately stating CPS $ per student spent &… Read more »

That headline is perfect, made me want to read further. Every Union in Illinois is political. Every Union in Illinois takes your dues and puts them toward the Democrat Party. Can’t say it would be different if we were a Red state because we’ve never been one. These Unions are government entities with the ability to dictate their own working conditions, pay, and benefits. I don’t even know the real definition of a union anymore.

What an absolutely idiotic and subversive piece!!! Using the term “social justice” to describe the objectives of a racketeering outfit is about the dumbest thing you could possibly do. Lots of people want social justice and consider it benevolent or altruistic! We’re not going to get middle ground folks to take our side if we take a stand against a broad ideology. In the eyes of someone that supports social justice, this makes you look like a bigoted idiot! You need to explain very simply what they’re doing and narrow the scope. This is a well orchestrated coup. Call them… Read more »

Dave, calling out social justice as a scam probably does result in the cultists just assuming we are all bigots. But the idea that calling it a “well orchestrated coup” will work better is most likely wrong. Haven’t you heard them call that a conspiracy theory? Facts are the best way to appeal to rational people. The cultists have already taken the koolaid; style of presentation will not convince them of anything.

Watch the video again. There are a huge number of subtle nuances that lots of people probably missed. The poor teacher performance and bad grades are a great argument for taking action and reigning in the CTU. Fox and Dabrowski literally watered down and diffused their own momentum by shifting focus to something that many people perceive as noble, altruistic, etc. “Dave, calling out social justice as a scam probably does result in the cultists just assuming we are all bigots.” They focus on social justice and activism in the video, but, hilariously, they didn’t even put forth an argument… Read more »

I’m not done yet! Who is Steven Bolton? Why have I never heard of this guy or anything he has to say? I’ve been lurking on this site for over a year and I’ve never heard the Chicago Republican Party or this guy’s name mentioned. LOL Why is he only showing up after Johnson gets settled in? Why on earth would he say this lady is the “power behind the throne.” Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! So, to sum things up, we’ve got our side presenting a weak argument. At the same time we’ve got Fox running “Power… Read more »

Most people are going to assume that COVID policies screwed up 2021 and 2022 stats. Also, there’s no mention of where the stats came from. The end result is no boost in credibility or political momentum.

We all need to start speaking the TRUTH. TRUTH TO POWER. They will attack you even if you are nice about it. If you challenge their world view they will come at you with everything they got. The Truth is what we need. Call a spade a spade is what I say. There is no working or compromising with Marxists. Let’s stop worrying about what they call us.

I’ve called out one guy here because he’s occasionally trouble. I like making suggestions too because I want to make a difference.

Can you define social justice?

That 1/3 still has a dominant position in public forums because of their communication sorcery. Using gamed terms only helps them.

I never called Wirepoints subversive. Fox edited the video and probably cut lots out. We all warned you about working with them. They’re going to pay out Ray Eppps next.

It is a plain fact that CPS is a political operation and providing a good education is secondary to them. We call the facts like we see them. You, instead, prefer again to suppress that reality to support a propagandistic narrative that you think will be effective. That’s what the left does today, not us.

Political operation is a poor explanation and unmotivating. Doing propaganda is dirty, but it’s reckless not to defend against propaganda. Here’s how it’s done: If I could sum up the CTU in one word, it would be insubordinate. We’ve provided ample evidence regarding their transgressions and their decade long trend of educational failure. In light of this, they’re disrespectful, arrogant, and dismissive. The only thing they care about is fortifying their positions and increasing their salaries. The trend is going to worsen unless we intervene. Putting an end to this is a social duty for anyone concerned about the future… Read more »

Illinois Supreme Court justices have been bought and paid for (million each) by JB, Illinois is lost!
Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board has ignored all the complaints so it’s hopeless, guess they are paid for too!

Why would the CTU respond to Fox’s request for comment? When there is no accountability for their poor classroom performance from ANYONE – governor, mayor, parents, voters, even taxpayers – arrogantly ignoring the press is easy and without reprisal.

Is anyone even mildly shocked by the 47% contribution rate to BJ’s election? Watch the puppet dance and move to the whims and wishes of the unions . . .

If the rest of us “ordinary folk” do a bad job we get fired. You need to be in a Union or work for the government then you can do whatever you want and get a slap on the wrist along with your paycheck. (I was given examples from an ex government employee who couldn’t take it anymore and quit.) The rest of us would get the slap on the wrist, our last paycheck, and start over again looking for a new job.

How about that, and good job WirePoints!

And an effective and illuminating report as well. Makes the big points clearly and quickly.

Might even spark a mendaciously vaporous “carnival barker” response from BJ and JB.

Which is a good thing – some progress is lots better than none at all.

The more they’re compelled to engage in a progressive blather-fest, laboriously camouflaged as a credible rebuttal to having been shown to be failing at something, the more we stand to gain.

I’m sure lots thoughtful effort went into getting this done, and nice work!
