Another night of armed robberies and Chicago cops are again ordered *not* to chase the offenders – CWB Chicago

As was the case in more than 100 armed robberies reported recently, last night’s spree involved armed men who jumped out of a stolen Kia to rob people at gunpoint on the street. Once again, Chicago police officers radioed that they had located the robbers driving around the area. And, once again, Chicago police supervisors ordered the cops to terminate efforts to pull the robbers over.

The only order cops have is for a Pizza, Italian beef, or Chicago hot dog.

The only way to start correcting this problem is when criminals like this get apprehended, not often, they are sent away to prison for long, long, long periods of time. Things like early release, day for day time served credit, SAFE T act, no bail release will not help. Prison works because it keeps that person off the street.

These no pursuit orders for armed robbery suspects are inexcusable.

This young man nearly died after a group of crime thug robbers shot him over his phone — just before that, these robbers were being pursued when the order was given to end the pursuit

The jury pools, and the voters, in Chicago, say… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
