Illinois has been all-in on progressive policies for decades, yet data shows it is undeniably one of the worst places for black residents to live. – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about why Illinois’ progressive policies harm black residents across jobs, incomes, poverty, education – it’s all a disaster. They also discuss Mayor Johnson’s own harmful policies and his inability to accomplish anything within his first 100 days, how Chicago’s sky-high commercial property taxes hurt businesses that want to stay in the city, and more.

It’s the old parable… The progressives’s will NEVER ALLOW THEM TO LEARN TO FISH… Much better to create a, metaphorically, populace addicted to your free stuff, promise of free stuff, absolution – ’cause you’re a poor victim, etc…

Liberalism, in the current sense, not the classic sense, is a disease… The Dems know they can employ their useful idiots; either from guilt, some compassion, or simple hubris, of “knowing better” to destroy our meritocracy…

Once everyone is special, no one is. (Paraphrased from Syndrome – The Incredibles)

Wow, great interview TED! City govts around the country need quick action to reverse the doom loops they’re in: Cut taxes, cut spending except for one increase ( build more jails), get rid of govt unions, enforce immigration laws (no illegals should be hired for any jobs), start school voucher programs, cut pay for govt ees by 10%, eliminate taxes on food & fuels for cryin out loud(!), incentivize marriage before childbirths, etc etc. But….common sense is completely gone from city govt. They’ve done the opposite for 50+ years, so they’re stuck on their evil stupidity. PS: this also applies… Read more »

Huh, the more Illinois government tries to help black residents the worse their life gets. What’s up with that?

The Mayor is doing business a favor by chasing them out to greener pastures.
Every time a business leaves, they celebrate with a bottle of champagne on their way out.
The blacks were cheated out of a education by the CPS and CTU all while they reaped some of the largest paychecks in history for delivering nothing. The Chitty now has 2 generations with no job skills or jobs available.

Now, now. Let’s not be too harsh on Mayor Tupak. He’s had an increase in crime, a self inflicted illegal immigrant crisis, a sit down with Angela Davis and given us whole slew of newspeak the lapdog media breathlessly parrots among his accomplishments.

It is always “the blacks this and the blacks that.” Well the blacks vote rock solid for the Democrats that created, create and no doubt will continue to create the situations reported. So, my question is, are the blacks not smart enough as voters to recognize the issues or do instead the blacks want things this way? To be sure I would be crucified by the assorted groups including the press for saying that the blacks are not smart enough so that leaves the other outcome that the blacks must want it this way. To me, in a nutshell, it… Read more »

Mike Royko wrote extensively about how easily bought off and manipulated the black community was under the Daley Machine. This isn’t an opinion but an observation from reading Royko’s book. The voting patterns are not new but recent outcomes appear to have become worse.

If I am not mistaken Royko wrote “Boss” that was a history of Daley and how he rose in politics and maintained his power in days so long ago I care not to count. Michael Madigan may have used the book as a “cookbook” to use in his political active life. It is a great read and thinking on it here I just may read i t again,

Einstein said something about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Could voting Democratic be a form of insanity?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
