Sen. Kennedy Grills Illinois Secretary Of State Over Pornographic Books Being Exposed To Children – Daily Caller

“Mr. Secretary, I understand this is good for your politics back home,” Kennedy said, leading Giannoulias to say it has nothing to do with politics. “But, of course it does, it has everything to do your politics! But you came here with a problem, and I’m trying to understand the solution and you don’t have one other than to tell us that if we don’t agree with you, we’ll be on the wrong side of history.”

Since Giannoulias saw the need to introduce Immigrants, that catch all word into the conversation, maybe Giannoulias can answer the question on whether his parents of Greek ancestry would of approved of him bringing such books home from his schools library?

There’s likely an unintended joke in your comment, if you pay close attention to the specific passages read by Sen. Kennedy…

I doubt his parents would even approve of those books being in the library. Kind of interesting that he says his parents knew what he was reading but the dem’s position is usually they know what’s best for your kid and they’ll help your kid do things behind your back. Wonder if his parents would approve of that too.

People don’t like this stuff being forced down their throat. People are accepting of gays but not accepting of promoting that lifestyle to kids. You think a switch goes off in a sexual predators head when they turn 21. That starts early from things that happen during their childhood. Go get a bunch of these books for your kid, take him to all the drag shows see how messed up your kid gets. The thing is you won’t realize it because you’re messed up worse.

Books Aren’t Being Banned & Debunking PEN America’s Report – Max Eden 9/12/23 Senate Judiciary Mtg – YouTube This gentleman said everything I’ve been thinking for so long. As an aside, I have been attempting to secure an appointment through SOS for new driver. Try, if you will, to get an appointment anywhere around Lake County Illinois on a Saturday or any day that isn’t smack dab in the middle of a working/school day. I looked for a feedback/complaint form – nada. There’s a notation at the top of the SOS page stating facilities have “new extended hours.” It’s a… Read more »

“Giannoulias said he is …. advocating for “random parents” not to have the ability to “challenge the worldview” on LGBTQ issues.”

Aside from who qualifies as a ‘random parent’ – likely any parent who disagrees- I wonder what the ‘worldview of LGBTQ issues’ actually means?

If it means what the majority of people within a particular area think, I expect that about half or two-thirds of the ‘world’ thinks something entirely different about LGBTQ issues than what Giannoulias touts-n-shills for.

Another important point that seems to have been overlooked: the “book ban ban” only affects eligibility for state library grants for specific purposes such as technology upgrades and construction/renovation. It doesn’t forbid parents from asking that a pornographic book be removed from a school library and no one is “going to jail” for breaking the law. It simply means a library that doesn’t comply won’t qualify for state grants — which generally make up a very small percentage of library budgets since they are primarily funded by local property taxes. A library that doesn’t participate in the state grant program… Read more »

Kennedy is right. The Illinois law is an empty political stunt, as we explained here: https://wirepoints.org/illinois-new-ban-on-book-bans-is-an-empty-and-hypocritical-stunt-wirepoints/

The best part is how Kennedy exposes the IL Democrats as out of touch far left lunatics.

CBS missed the whole story here.

Sen John Kennedy of Louisiana read aloud from a book called Gender Queer. Totally vile, disgusting stuff, and then asked Giannoulias what he was advocating for the committee to do. Giannoulias was clearly uncomfortable, and tried to say that “banning” this kind of material is a slippery slope that would lead to banning To Kill a Mockingbird. Sen Kennedy made Giannoulias look like a sneaky kid trying to talk his way out of trouble.

Sen Kennedy for President!

The viral clip of this has millions of views on Twitter. Legacy Media CBS didn’t just miss the story, they completely ignored it on purpose to mislead their readers. CBS isn’t news. It’s a news product, sort of like how American cheese is a cheese product but isn’t cheese. Call CBS whatever you want, but it’s not news. Alexi was squirming in his seat the entire time and admitted the book was disturbing. He doesn’t read conservative media, he doesn’t live in our universe, he’s just a dumb politician, he probably honestly had no idea what these books even contained.… Read more »

“a news product, sort of like how American cheese is a cheese product

That’s one of the best descriptions I’ve heard yet.

Conservative media is always better. Sure, it has a slant, but it almost always has more thorough reporting of actual facts. Thank you

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
