During a detention hearing on Thursday, prosecutors asked Judge Linzey Jones to detain trucker Jose Gonzalez before trial as both a safety threat and a flight risk, according to clerk of court records. Jones rejected both requests, setting Gonzalez free with standard instructions to stay in the state, show up in court, and refrain from contacting the alleged victim. The Illinois State Police noted in its Facebook post that “Gonzalez was released pursuant to the provisions in the Pretrial Fairness Act.”
But throw a rock at Pritzger’s toiletless mansion and the state prosecutor deems the person as a dangerous threat to the community and asks for detention. The judge didn’t bite but just the fact that a rock thrower is dangerous but someone who shoots a gun at another person isn’t is mystifying.

I’m sure Mr. Gonzalez is a great guy! Maybe at JB’s next press conference about some big capital spending project a reporter like Maryann Ahern can ask him if he’s happy that Mr. Gonzalez, a gun owner who isn’t afraid to use it, is out and about.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
