Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison heads an office of just four staffers. His team, plus two people appointed by the state, are in charge of monitoring people released pretrial, which he said has been at least 20 people per month since cash bail was eliminated. “It’s a significant burden to try to track that many people, especially in a rural community that doesn’t have much resources,” Garrison said. “Eventually, we will have to hire more staff. Unfortunately, that’s just not available.”

So there are two staff members from the state that assist in tracking the released offenders in this county? Maybe they can get help from the hundreds of state employees working in all the DEI offices the state has created. Talk about messed up.

Just watch wttw ch 11 week in review and guest are declaring cash bail reform as giant success with no consequences and Republicans/right wing fear mongers are going to have to eat crow…..after just a couple months??
Some counties, DUPAGE LOOKING AT YOU, are detaining everyone they can, while others whine that they’re just following the law and letting everybody go. The appellate courts are totally onboard with the pretrial detentions. No appellate court judge wants to be known as the guy who freed a locked up criminal who went on to commit more crimes. Feel free to detain and you’ll be OK. The law is actually backfiring but the progressives are too dumb to notice.
