Ted joined Perry Small of WVON for an in-depth discussion on Chicago’s 2023 homicide and other crime numbers. Ted points out that while homicides are down this year, thankfully, Chicago still suffered more total killings than any other city. Meanwhile, major crimes are up 55% compared to 2019.

If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
Any crimes committed on an expressway are not recorded since those roads are under the jurisdiction of ISP. A small detail, yes, but shows how city officials try to fudge the numbers on crime. Murder stats are usually updated the following year and get lost in the stats which is another trick. Death investigations linger for months and many times fade away.
Perri, I dare you to go back to 2015 and listen to your characterizations of Dr. Ben Carson on your show, when he was a presidential candidate. Those were the day’s that I lost ALL empathy for you and your ilk’s cause. Shame on you.
Many folks like Perri voted for Biden, Lightfoot, Pritzker, and Johnson. Zero sympathy because she has regrets all of a sudden? These people are an absolute farce. Zero backbone and 100% gaslighting and virtue signaling. The voters are the problem. These candidates did well to hide their communist intentions then all hell breaks loose. No stopping them now after they lie nearly every day to us.
Whooo whooo! We’re number one! We’re number one! We’re number one!
Once again, I wonder how many deaths in Chicago under the mutual combat law are murders and should be counted as such.
The official tally is of homicides, not murders, but the two often get conflated. All murders are homicides, but not all homicides are murders. The under-counting comes from homicides not being counted as homicides, but rather, cause of death as ‘unknown’ or ‘suicide’ or ‘accidental’ like all seemingly the stable 20 something men who they find in the rivers, or when they find dead people on the street and categorize it as ’cause unknown’ or ‘drug overdose’. They police sometimes slow walk the investigation to keep cases off their desk. I’ve heard rumblings, and probably unreliable, but it’s usually a… Read more »
Hmm, could the lack of swift, certain and severe penalties have propelled Chicago into 1st place?
Hmm.. perhaps stricter gun control is needed. Because those already flouting the hundreds of stipulations in place now will certainly fall into line if more are implemented.
One really cheep pathetic trick pols (and maybe CPD) has played with Chicago homicide stats is to release the CPD homicide CLEARANCE RATE to make it seem to hapless public that this is the CPD % of homicides solved and CPD is doing a great job which is completely deceptive. It’s my understanding, the CPD homicide CLEARANCE RATE is complicated but is more or less homicides solved plus homicide for one reason or another that CPD has quit investigating. Attached is ABC article from a couple of days ago, coinciding with CPD release of crime stats, claiming improved clearance rate… Read more »
