Governor Pritzker is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the migrant crisis with no accountability – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Johnson’s failure to work together on solutions for the migrant crisis in Chicago, why Pritzker isn’t focusing on the migrant crisis as he celebrates his increasingly progressive laws, why Johnson’s mansion tax won’t ‘solve’ homelessness, and more.

Biden Administration, Pritzker, and BJ all think these arriving “migrants” are captured new Democratic voters. They are buying these supposed votes by facilitating migrant housing, medical care, schooling, and social services for probably next year, or two, or hereon for those “migrants” who eventually fail to establish financial independence. Not a short-term expensive problem, but rather a long-term new burden upon taxpayers, and upon low-income citizens who previously relied themselves on those services now shared with “recent migrants”. But for Democrat politicians a clear short-term “win”. More votes. By all means registered by Nov 2024, regardless whether migrants are not… Read more »

Yabba-Dabba-Doo! Pritzker is Fred Flintstone (just look and listen to him). Sanctuary state. Enabling an army of invading squatters to take publicly owned buildings, facilities (schools and recreational), and land. Property owned by the honest and hard-working citizens of the cities of this state. Yabba-Dabba-Doo! A plain example of a governor, born and bred of an elitist money rich class, enslaving the ordinary modest and hard-working citizens of Illinois. The governor’s family name can be found on a prestige law school (NW) and medical and science schools (Chicago). Oh, could the governor lean on these elitist universities to offer up dormitories and other facilities for the… Read more »

They’ve used this trick for years of giving block grants to NGO’s who have little or no requirement to account for it. Now stakes are much higher, before it was a Whopper Junior and now Jumbo Belly has made it a Big Mac with 2 extra patties.

Really? You are in IL, you know. Between the union humps that know which side their bread is buttered on and the welfare sub culture that is likewise hip, it would be surprising if competent, transparent , honest officials were elected. Foxx, Preckwinkle, “ Panic Attacks “ Johnson, Evans etc. The list of miscreants is long and established for life.

We have a one party General Assembly In Springfield that has ceded all power to this Lard Lad, allowing his declarations of emergency to go unquestioned.

Fani Willis is cut from the same cloth. Being a Dem is saying I’m unaccountable.

JB has declared an emergency so that sufficient resources are available to the migrants so that they can be housed, fed, provided medical attention, schooling for their children, public services, transportation, etc.

He’s definitely accountable, just not to citizens.

It’s an inconvenient and unpopular issue, so Pritzker will ignore the illegal migrant crisis, and the mainstream media will let him do it. Pritzker would rather celebrate abortion, drug usage and gambling. Only in Illinois is this type of negligence acceptable. Not sure what his plan is for the convention this summer. It may be harder to hoodwink an entire nation.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
