Adding our voice … We remain here only for family. But our grocery and gas shopping are all done in Wisconsin now. I realize not everyone is situated to do travel out of state like this, but we are not alone and our local businesses have to be feeling it.

Short trip for me, about 7 minutes, to get fuel in Wisconsin. Last week saved $0.92 cents a gallon compared to Pritzger gas. Throw is some grocery shopping as well, mostly tax free, and it ends up saving $10-15 a trip every time.

Have you gone to Kwik Trip in Wi? They have additional fuel discounts if you purchase certain items. I just got an email that I can get 75 cent off gas with a $15 online order good for up to 30 gallons. The food is real good and lots of people looking at daily specials. Gas is $2.99 at the Beloit one. Get their card if you don’t have one and register to get deals and points. P.S. Pastries/donuts are real good like Glazers ((think Krispy Kreme)

Kwik Trip employees are also friendly and willing to help.

And recreational gas is available.

Love the KwikTrip and go to one of them a lot. Lots of deals as well at Kwik Star in South Beloit but don’t get gas there. I’m a certified, card carrying Kwikster!

You have not seen anything yet. Looking back in a few years you will wish for the good old days.
Taxes must, I mean must go way higher to cover the spending and debt obligations.

Remember, the moronic Democrats (sorry to be redundant) respond that if you can’t afford gas, go buy an electric car. It’s the same as Marie Antoinette’s response when told that there was no bread for the peasants to buy, she said “let them eat cake instead”. You know how well that worked out for Marie Antoinette. Hopefully the same will happen politically to the Democrats.

It would be one thing if Pritzker raised taxes to address the atrocious fiscal woes of the state. All he did when he doubled the gasoline tax was create an enormous slush fund for capital projects to keep the union boys happy. He immediately announced $43 billion in projects, most which were unvetted and some completely unnecessary. Of course, he also indexed the gasoline tax to inflation, which Biden subsequently drove to historic levels, compounding the increase in gasoline taxes. It’s the gift that automatically keeps giving…to democrats. This is why businesses and residents keep fleeing Illinois, to get away… Read more »

This tax is highly regressive. I just don’t understand why the voting populace doesn’t react more negatively to the tax. It is likely politicians for the most part don’t care as putting money into their coffers is the sole objective.

The Democrat Party is a package deal, an all or nothing situation. You get fetus sacrifice, child genital mutilation and unfettered illegal immigration, but it comes with higher taxes on everything. Most low-information Democrats are willing to take that deal.
