Pastor Corey Brooks: "The Republicans are far from perfect. They lack a significant presence in communities like mine. But what I love about the Republican Party is that I have the freedom to influence change through leading by example."

Amen, brother! Good article.

I faced death threats and my family had to go into hiding. My church was robbed of over $8,000 from a collection box that was to serve the needy. I lost three-fourths of my congregation.

Tells you all you need to know about Chicago Democrats.

Millions of white liberals, led by people like Navin Grewsome and Pritzker beg to differ with him because they know better than a guy in the trenches doing the right things.

I can see that. The problem with joining the Republican party though is it is now a cult of personality that has been consistently rejecting integrity.

I am for integrity, not for going with the flow to win at all costs.

What does “Illinois” have to do with what I posted?

I have lived in Crook County for decades. I watched two Illinois Governors go to jail, one from each major party.

Just because Illinois politicians lack integrity doesn’t excuse the Republican Party from lacking integrity.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
