Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. To use the logic of a recent article, there is no crisis. There will only be a crisis when these kids are in the adult working world. Then, they’ll wonder why they can’t get good jobs or function effectively in any jobs that require analytical skills. What’s required is effective planning from today’s leaders to help get these kids ready for the adult working world. As has been shown many times, some of today’s leaders either aren’t good at forethought because that involves too much, wait for it, analytical thought, or because they don’t care much about future generations; the… Read more »
For anyone paying attention, the high schools have gone FULL GLOBOHOMO, they’re barely even teaching these days, and spending inordinate amount of time on every social and cultural issue imaginable; and when actual reading or math is taught, it’s overly infused with leftist propaganda. I’ve been in several high schools in the past year for my son and nearly all of them are like walking into a coffee bar in Boystown, there is gay race communism everywhere. This is why kids aren’t learning, it’s really not that difficult to understand.
I was reading “Illinois Mandated Units of Study” and came across the following: “Pupils in the public schools in grades 9-12 shall be taught and shall be required to study courses that include instruction in the area of consumer education. 105 ILCS 5/27-12.1.” I come across Ilklinois gaduates that cannot make change. How does this happen?
They can’t count…….they depend on the cash registers for answers on change……I believe because the teachers CAN’T TEACH AND DON’T CARE like they did years ago. Tried to show a cashier how to count change back w/o the register.. he looked at me like I was talking a foreign language…..really sad…do they even have parent teacher meetings anymore?? Are parents allowed to see what their kids are or are not being taught??
My opinion is that our new generation of kids need significant remedial help. 49% of the students in the state are low income and the entire student population is majority-minority. Many of these kids are from broken households or households with poorly educated parents. 15-20% of them are obese and is concentrated in the lower income brackets. These kids simply can’t keep up with the pace of schools these days. The schools spend so much time on non-core subjects and so little time on the 3R’s, and they just fall behind and never catch up. Combine that with the common… Read more »
Can you give specific examples of the “gay race communism” that you saw in these high schools? Interested in what exactly you saw!
Now I don’t live in these districts but traveled here for my son’s sports. For example, a huge transflag on the inside of Dundee-Crown High School. A transflag and BLM signs painted on the outside of Maine East High School. Those are just two examples I like to use because they can be verified by passerbys. Equity in District 207 Equity is about fairness, justice and individuals getting what they need and deserve in order to reach their full potential as opposed to equality, which is about sameness and treating everyone in exactly an identical manner regardless of their differences… Read more »
Dist 207 flat out says they’re going to violate the constitution by not treating people equally, but instead treating them equitably, and the standards of who get what will be decided by the administration alone. “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” with the libtards who run D207 deciding what your kids needs are, instead of just giving all the kids an equal education, based on whatever social group or race they identify as, with asians and whites on the bottom. This is gay race communism.
Within the article is a graph that breaks down attendance levels at schools. Assuming the graph is correct black students chronically miss school at twice the average for white students. Next up will we see another article about the poor performance of black students in schools and some racially based word salad about it all?
Ah, the old PPLL. There’s now a name for it and a syndrome? Wow. Yep, sounds like the administrators and teachers and the State Board or education and the Federal Department of Education need to use all of the high paid degrees and figure our a way to change that, as what they are doing isn’t working. I am sure that will result in…wait for it…spending more and more money. Here’s some suggestions – Teachers need the power to throw students who don’t want to be there…out. And the District stands behind them. The Districts need to lose at least… Read more »
