Gov. JB Pritzker was the mystery buyer who paid Ken Griffin $19M for the top 2 floors of a Near North Side building – Chicago Tribune*

The combined purchase at the 9 W. Walton St. building represents the highest price anyone has paid this year for a Chicago-area residence, and it’s the fourth-highest price anyone has ever paid for any home within Chicago’s city limits.

I told you these two billionaires were in a peeing match. JB’s bought Ken’s condo at a loss was JB’s way of giving Ken the middle finger as he left Illinois.

I’m convinced JB bought this to stem the flow of negative publicity. Catch and kill the story before it creates unwelcome questions about property taxes, pension debt, opportunity cost of investing in Illinois. Also. Keeping Griffin out of the news also muffles why he allowed the world’s premier hedge fund to leave the State.

Most likely the toilets or something else will be removed in order to qualify the property as “Uninhabitable”. It will be remodeled for years to avoid paying any property taxes.
Or…..He bought the place to house his best friends the Migrants to show us all he is not such a bad guy after all. NOT! Happy Thanksgiving
