Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. We who “can” are generally willing to help those who “can’t”. But we are absolutely not willing, nor are we able, to help those who “can’t” AND those who “won’t”. And we resent being forced to.
I’m tired of paying for anything that’s not my family. Get the f… illegals out they are costing us BILLIONS!
Bad reasoning leads to bad plans that include charges like this. The legislature and ICC don’t know what they are doing. Peoples Gas gave no good reason for this.
The $52.72 per month charge for small commercial that is actually residential is asinine. That’s just one obnoxious outcome of bad reasoning and a bad plan.
Several years ago I tried to get energy assistance from Peoples Gas to help my mother out. She was told that she didn’t qualify based on her zip code. I guess these freebies are reserved for certain people who have been given billions of dollars over the last 50 yrs.
More freebies for the folks that are already heavily subsidized by the taxpayers but still can’t seem to make ends meet. Com Ed soon to follow suit if they haven’t already with their “ green tax “ and other nebulous fees and charges. Ditto Nicor. You’re going to pay reparations whether you want to or not.
Is this tax-deductible as a charitable contribution for individual tax payers?
Very good point they are illegally forcing us to make contributions we do not want to.
Just stop paying it what can they do, Nicor gas fee is .79 cents still bull crap which I’m not going to pay. Start standing up to these people in Springfield.
