Regardless of what Trump disrupts, Illinoisans themselves must disrupt far more to fix this state – Wirepoints on Chicago Tonight

Ted joined Chicago Tonight to talk about the disruption Trump will bring to Illinois on the border, on energy, on free speech, etc. – but he also talked about how real disruption must come from ordinary Illinoisans, what we must do to really honor MLK day, and more.

How about giving the would-be refugees a small cash stipend and a quick comfortable trip back to their place of origin IF they turn themselves in before the end of January? Perhaps hand out the money in local currency once they are leaving the plane in Mexico or wherever. They’d have to sign a liability release also. This would save a lot of money paying ICE to search for and capture and house them. It could also expedite the process — which is otherwise likely to be challenged in front of sympathetic judges. Hell, let them hire lawyers to arrange… Read more »

Voters in Cook County control the state and they vote democrats into office. They are just plain too stupid to see what harm the people they elect are causing to the state. For whatever reason, most likely refusing to admit that they have been hoodwinked, they continue to elect democrats in spite of things like out of control crime in Chicago, ridiculous taxes on gasoline, sanctuary policies that have wasted tens of millions of their tax dollars on illegal aliens while public safety falls apart, businesses are leaving or closing, jobs are being lost and tax paying citizens are leaving.… Read more »

In Illinois there are too many voters given the choice to both have whatever they need and have somebody else pay for it. Many who can’t have somebody else pay for whatever their needs are, are instead expected to continually pay inflationary amounts sometimes called a “fair share”.

Note to David Franklin: President Trump is NOT an ajudicated sexual abuser. If you need verification contact ABC and Mr Stephanopolous. That little lesson cost ABC million$ along with a $14 million contribution to Trump’s presidential library.

Congrats Ted & WP, so disappointing it takes Trump getting elected to get a few minutes on WTTW. One wonders of Trump will be the GIANT rating godsend he was for lib press last time around or continue ratings to nosedive, like msnbc? Encouraging to see direction trib seems to be going.

You need to talk directly with the public to get an idea of where we’re at, what works, and what doesn’t. Visit some college campuses, visit some liberal neighborhoods. Charlie Kirk has an excellent engagement model.

The Illinois public lacks human intelligence and self-respect. They are not worthy of freedom because they like being slaves.

I don’t think anybody doesn’t like freedom or likes being a slave. There are too many voters who want to have somebody else pay for their needs, which allows them to do what they want with their own personal or household income.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
