What is the inflation adjusted price to the original construction? I guarantee no where close to cost to remodel.

Go to one of the state universities that offers a construct management degree and get with the carpenters, masons and electrical unions and make this a volunteer project. If you got the right people who cared about the historical legacy of this place you would get it done for a fraction of the money the state says it needs.

The political animals are concerned about where the $19 million restoration cost will come from. Frankly, I’d like to see an itemized list of what taxpayers will receive for this outlay.

The job will end up costing much, much more when it is finally done. This is how government works.

WTF That why nothing can get done in this state .19million dollar’s for what! Hows getting a kick back from this project. You could have people donate there time that know what there doing and just pay for materials I am sure there are alot of people would be honored to participate in some thing like this.. Also company’s that would donate some of the materials would look good for them. This state is a disgrace.
Exactly what i was saying today. There would be lots of groups that would probably get involved. Think Boy Scouts/Eagle Scouts. Lions clubs, school programs and just average folks. ONE Roof over 400k? You can build a mansion for that. Wtf is right.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
