So-called voter education group — League of Women Voters — says don’t attend, engage or watch Trump speech to Congress – Wirepoints Quickpoint

“Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.” League of Women Voters claims to serve those goals by educating voters.

But when it comes to one of the most important presidential addresses in memory on Tuesday night, just close your eyes and ears. That’s the League’s message, as you  can see in its Facebook post reproduced here. “DO NOT ATTEND, ENGAGE, OR WATCH THE STATE OF THE UNION,” say the champions of voter education.

The League of Women Voters long ago threw away its place as a neutral arbiter of issues and elections. Today, it’s a leading voice of the far left — a shrill, intolerant part of the cancel culture.

-Mark Glennon

This column was corrected to reflect that Trump’s speech to Congress was not technically a State of the Union address.

REMAIN IGNORANT! Listen to us! Do as you’re told! Great Message LoWV! Please shout it loud enough for the guy on the high dive competing against my daughter in this high school meet can hear you!

Someone needs to tell the LWV that it was not a State of The union Address. It was an address to Congress. I continue to be amused by Democrats. While they pretend to condemn hate in all forms, they continue to make an exception for President Trump.

True story: last year these several of these Harpies were ‘manning’ a booth at a local festival in my town, handing out voter information forms about who to vote for in the upcoming election. I wasn’t paying attention to what was going on and they handed me a card. I looked at the card and it said “League of Women Voters”. I threw the card on the ground in front of them, looked one of them in the eyes, and said, “you are a horrible person with horrible degenerate beliefs” and walked away. The woman’s jaw dropped to the ground… Read more »

Lol… that’s the same reaction I sometimes get when I wear my MAGA hat “out and about” here in Evanston… the worst are the nasty looks I get from “Elizabeth Warren” types in Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s… one old bag in fact came up to me in TJ’s and hissed “FASCIST!”…

It never “fails to amuse”, lol… I’m not normally a “provocative” type, but it’s “good cheap fun” once in a whiles…

Some years ago in a hotly contested downstate election the League sponsored a debate between the two contestants. It soon became pretty apparent that one of the two seemingly had prior knowledge of what questions were going to be asked. I lost all respect for the league back then and now finally their true objectives are being unearthed. It would not surprise me if the organization is not the recipient of assorted funding that furthers their benefactors goals and not that of the publics.

The League of Women Voters – by its very nature – is an organization run by upper-middle class politically active middle aged and elderly women. That demographic is extremely leftist and progressive by definition – we derogatorily call them AWFLs (Affluent White Female Liberals). The only way to change this would be to admit young conservative men into the organization in order to take it over. Absent this, there is no fixing the League of Women Voters. It must be destroyed and dismantled from the outside through lawfare, legislation and denial of funding.

These are the types that turned out en masse here in Evanston for all the Black History Month events last month… at some events there were *more* of these meddling white virtue – signalers than black folks, lol…

I think there may be alternative groups such as the Independent Women’s Forum that are basically centrist or center right versions of the LWV

North suburban woke women I presume. Down here south of I80 not so much. These women are probably ok with 16 year old boys in their daughters locker room, or teachers transitioning their kids gender behind their back.

“The League of Birthers that vote feelings and identities over facts .” would be a more appropriate moniker.

The League of self-censored women voters is an embarrassment. Their logo should be the three monkeys who hear no evil, speak no evil and see no evil.

Now they are promoting fair maps in Illinois which is a great thing but last time I walked around with a clipboard and they said they weren’t supporting that. I think the organization but the whole group of dimwits didn’t have a clue. I’ll have nothing to do with them.

Back before Jimmy Kimmel became a cry baby for the left, he did a skit on the infamous “ Man Show “ in which he approached women with a petition to sign ending women’s suffrage ( right to vote). A surprising number were all in favor of it, not knowing what it meant.

When Jay Leno started the “Jaywalking” segment, questioning ordinary people in the street, I assumed they did a lot of curating to make sure only the stupidest answers were featured. Now I’m not so sure they had to do a lot of work to make it come out that way.

PDJT declared ‘woke’ is over in America. 76% of people who watched the joint session speech last night approve. PDJT has shattered the Leftist Democrats into a 1,000 pieces.

Nancy Pelosi looked like she was going to have the big one, Durbin was sweating and others were actually sleeping. It was a great night for We the People the true Americans.

I think she passed decades ago. She reminds my of a female version of Weekend at Bernie’s.

That’s why term limits are desperately needed across all government bodies just like the President.

Let’s hope that they double down and keep it up. A 60-40 Senate after 2026 elections would usher in a new birth of freedom.

What the Leftist Democrats refused to stand and cheer for during the PDJT’s joint session speech:

A young boy with brain cancer.Fighting crime.Helping the working class.Apprehending terrorists who murdered Americans.Destroying cartels.Honoring Americans killed by illegal immigrants.Deporting criminals.Bringing American citizens held hostage back home. The Leftist Democrats look like a cult that really hates America.

They have been making their bed for decades. The fact that it will all fall to pieces in front of them should come as no surprise to anyone with 1/2 an operational brain even themselves.

Does League of Women’s Voters receive any special tax status or taxpayer funding as a supposed ‘Non-partisan’ organization? If so, then that tax status should be removed.

Same group of women are OUTRAGED when their A-student daughter is shut-out of her 1st three college of choice. This women are “liberal” so long as their liberal woke politics don’t affect their own children. Many are likely very very upset to see NGO ad federal entry-level jobs normally afforded to their college-educated children now disappeared by DOGE budget cuts.

They’ll keep their heads in the sand and pretend the ridiculous woke agenda is alive and well. It isn’t. Trump has brought common sense back to the USA. He may not get many style points for how he does it, but I can live with that as long as he delivers.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
