First look at massive Illinois solar farm powering Chicago – ABC7 (Chicago)

City energy costs over the past seven years show from 2017 to 2024 the city used 14 percent less natural gas, but costs went up 19 percent. Electricity use increased by 11 percent in that time, but the cost went up a whopping 80 percent.

Electricity cost skyrocketed due to the “GREEN” energy requirement, can’t pick a cheaper supplier in Illinois. Thank you JB for skyrocketed electrical costs.

I wouldn’t believe a single statistic about this boondoggle given the weather and lack of sunlight in Illinois. Not one.
Further, the Feds need to investigate this set up because it’s almost guaranteed that there’s some shenanigans going on.

What a massive waste of perfectly good farmland AND taxpayer money. Solar panels generate power at best 40% of the time and generally only at about 60% of efficiency. You know: dusk, night, dawn plus dust and cloud cover. Windmills generate power at best 45% of the time. Both are Climate Change farce voodoo.

Electricity use increased by 11% in that time, but the cost went up a whopping 80%.” Your own analysis above clearly shows the Climate Grift on full display. Instead of cheap, reliable power,… Read more »

Solar farms like this are far more efficient than roof top solar. please don’t install roof top solar in Illinois.
