Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I agree with the author’s point “Rather than make our arguments with contempt for the other side, make the arguments with dignity.”
But he also writes “Contempt could never get us ‘out of this mess’ because it’s what got us into this mess.”
What “got us into this mess” is corruption, both Democrat and Republican.
Democrats control 95% of the media. So Trump speaking bold truth to power is refreshing. Democrats have turned to violence and foul language in their lust for power. The George W. Bush pose of being above the fray doesn’t cut it.
Pritzker as the Democrat nominee for President would be the best case scenario for Illinois. He won’t win and will guarantee a republican President in 2028. Plus he will blow most of his daddy’s fortune in the endeavor leaving him penniless and unable to poison Illinois anymore. Please please please run JB!!!
It would be one thing if JB the Hutt was pointing out actual malfeasance on the President’s or his people’s part. The Hutt isn’t, making his bloviating about his newfound love of the US Constitution ring hollow. The gaslighting would be embarrassing to one possessing shame. While endlessly bawling about perceived Trump falsehoods, the useless Chicago media continues to provide cover for mountains of DNC mendacity, such as that constantly emitted by the Hutt. The nation knows Illinois is in the tank because of JB and Democrat control for decades, President JB will never happen, spend billions and it still won’t.
You can’t just sit back and say Pritzker will never become president, because he is sure working and scheming to do just that. We all have to work to make sure the country is aware of how he has damaged Illinois.
J.B. is as contemptuous of American voters as he is of Trump. He foolishly thinks we’ll overlook his incompetent leadership of a state in decline just like Illinoisans have.
