CPS considers delaying some CTU contract wins, prompting lawsuit threat – Chicago Sun-Times

CTUCONTRACT-040225-19.jpgCPS is suggesting delaying two parts of the CTU contract if it does not get $300 million in additional revenue from the city or state. At most, it would save about $70 million by delaying hiring some additional staff, such as librarians and nurses, and not setting aside as much money as specified in the contract agreement to relieve overcrowded classrooms.

A deal’s a deal…at least until the money runs out. Any Outfit operative knows you don’t bleed out your pigeon, you bleed ’em a little, so the flow continues.

CTU should not get dime one until they actually start teaching students math, reading, grammar and science.stop teaching progressive classes until students can do math and read at grade level.

That sounds like a plan—until you start doing it. Then it falls apart immediately. Its much like the idea of threatening to implying you’ll keep beating your employees or subordinates until their morale improves. It won’t. the tough-guy approach isn’t going to make the work more attractive or productve very long in the ways you want.

Not to mention, CTU doesn’t set the curriculum. I see complaints on here constantly about issues that are decided at the district level. Policing policies are not set by police officers on the front line just as curriculum is not set by teachers. Some people are just unable to learn these basic facts.

CTU doesn’t have anything to do with the climate or housing, but they find these topics worthy of discussion in contract negotiations. Don’t have anything to do with Gaza either, but find the wherewithal to protest about it. Zip, however, about a topic that directly affects their work.

Nothing new, just more fake drama. All that’s going to happen is CPS will take out more loans at exorbitant rates on the taxpayers dime…………and ZERO layoffs, as usual
