Willie Wilson: Violent crime may be down, but do residents feel safe in all neighborhoods? – Chicago Tribune*

"I am appalled that more than 75 percent of the victims of gun violence are young Black men and boys.  African Americans account for 28 percent of the city’s population. The Black community does not feel a 30 percent drop in homicides and nonfatal shootings — because their neighborhoods remain places with high violence. Aretha Franklin, the singer, had it right: You have to give the people 'something they can feel.'"

This article treats the problem as being a solely economic problem. Go look at the families. Single parent and two parent families.

Is violent crime down, or are they not reporting crime and downgrading charges? Turn on the news. Violent crime not down.
