Before Thursday's meeting, union leaders called on legislators to convene a special session that secures full funding for CPS. Some are calling for a so-called millionaires tax. "Massachusetts has already done this and seen $3 billion funding to their public schools. We can do that, too," said Diane Castro, with the CTU.

Bad comparison, CTU. Massachusetts public school rankings are some of the best in the country and rank exponentially higher than public schools in Illinois. All while MA teachers are held accountable for results.

Massachusetts also has the most liberal, money hemorrhaging program for illegals. I’m sure Castro would be all in on following their example on that as well.

CPS and CTU did this to the schools. Let them bail themselves out. Why should the ste pay for greed and mismanagement with poor student outcomes.

CPS is it’s own, it belongs to Chicago and is a Chicago problem.
Nearly 1/2 the schools need to be close and consolidated.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
