Residents, workers, and visitors to D.C. are realizing that the out of control crime along with homeless vagrants on streets and in parks is a feature of Democrats. The first step in cleaning up D.C. was getting rid of the hideous ‘BLM’ painted on the street, not far from the WH, to honor the career criminal and doper St Floyd.

How often do you need a stolen luxury car smashing through your plate glass storefront so the neighborhood honor students in the car can loot your business and run before you put up the plywood and call it a career? Crime is down because businesses are leaving.

Why does this site prominently feature its crime tracker when all the numbers are fake!? I’ve seen people throw out some of those charts on X and they try to argue that because they came from Wirepoints they can be believed. Is there some way unreported crime can be factored in? It’s very frustrating!

You must be new. They always drop the ball and every other article has something to do with moving out. Any news related to throwing out Johnson and Pritzker rarely shows up here, so proceed with caution.

We’ve invited you before to send us those stories you claim we are missing, for us to post, but you’ve never sent even one. We’d like nothing more than to have more optimistic stories that we could link to.

Really?? William J. Kelly -@Williamjkelly on x – is the only guy asking Brandon Johnson real questions. He’s curiously absent if you’re interested in connecting all the dots. Instead, we get prominently featured garbage Tribune editorials.

We don’t know how to factor that in, though we have written often about the problem of underreported crime. It’s especially difficult to know if the underreporting is worsening or improving.

And even if some statistics indicate a slight decline in crime, the damage has been done. I for one don’t want to visit downtown Chicago and I don’t want to ride the CTA ever again. And I lived in Chicago for years. I’d like to go back and see the neighborhood where I grew up but can’t bring myself to return to the most corrupt city in the nation.

I did go back recently to the Ashburn neighborhood. The houses were much closer than I remembered, the streets were much narrower than I remembered with more cars than I remembered parked on both sides of the road. Every intersection offered a danger of collision because a local was speeding through it. All I could think about was the snowstorm of 1967 locking everything down. I won’t be back!

Scottsdale, Ford City, St. Bede Parish, Bogan High School….
CWBChicago has a new item today about a thief who robbed the donation box at St. Bede church.

“In 2024 alone, there were a mere 141 arrests in 2,300 nonfatal shootings–a 6% clearance rate.”
So only 6% of Chicago shootings lead to arrests. Sun-Times Mar 18, 2025

All a Wirepoints reader needs to do is examine that rate of solved murders in Chicago to determine where TPTB priorities are.

Crime stats down do to unreported crimes , not charging criminals, and downgrading charges. Just turn on the local news. However, news stations stopped reporting carjackings.

Cops numbers are all lies. Many, many people do not report crimes because they will die of old age before a cop comes out to make a report. The cops never look for the criminals. Most of these crimes go unsolved, if not all. Chicago is not a safe place to be anymore.

A lot of that is due to the PD being short something like 2000 officers.

Blaming the police here is idiotic at best

Crime is lower from historical highs, but Homie’s holistic approach has far from eliminated it.

Just like DC, Chicago is fudging crime reports to hide the true crime stats

That’s true and has been that way for years. Thefts become lost property, stabbing became simple assaults some shootings as well, burglary become a minor theft etc etc etc. Now calls to report a theft or burglary are not assigned for hours and put in RAP (radio assignment pending) and at some point a supervisor will authorize all of them to be terminated (coded out) and suddenly that theft or burglary or assault didn’t happen. Shootings dismissed as accidental, a homicide to a suicide, yes that happens, and all of this is because the mayor orders the police superintendent who… Read more »
