Also, as a person (senior) that bikes a lot in city & suburban bike trails, the folks going CRAZY +40 mph on their EV-bike/ scooters is out of control. And they’re not just kids.

Can;t ride the trails on weekends anymore. At my age, a fall would be a disaster.

Now that kids see Chicago delinquents getting away with this behavior, the suburbs need to clamp down now on this behavior. Otherwise the suburbs will have teens from Chicago coming.

Why would the parents of teens face consequence in Lombard for their kids activity, but not in Chicago? Hmmmmm…?

Unfortunately the roads are now crowded with those that have a need to tear around in muscle cars like they are only playing a game, people that have no business driving and will flee on foot if involved in an accident and children ignorant of the rules of the road on mini bikes, razers, skateboards and all types of new ways to get run over and left for dead in traffic. Safe driving and sharing the road with non- motorized vehicles, joggers, dog walkers, moms with buggies, etc. has gone the way of the pay phone.

Making a big deal out a small thing. While crimes go unsolved that are much more serious than that. Let the kids have fun, they are only young once.

“You have to educate the community on safety laws regarding motor vehicle use.” How stupid do you think people are that they have to be “educated” on the dangers? Common sense should alert participants and bystanders to the dangers. Cite them with tickets, fine the parents, that will educate pretty quickly.
