Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. It is always nice to see rich spoiled woman who sends her own children to private schools tell the public how to spend (waste) their money on the CPS.
CPS and CTU shouldn’t get another dime until they close underutilized schools and lay off the staff. Also, CTU should get nothing until they start teaching students and the students test scores improve.
“I think he means we’re going to have to get together, create [a] coalition and put the pressure on billionaires to pay their fair share in this state.”

Stacey. The billionaires worked for their money. Can you and the union say the same ? Btw. Why don’t the press just quit covering her press conferences. Its the same old thing day in and day out
Is Covid back? Why so many masks at this press conference?
Don’t most robbers and thieves wear masks when they are ripping people off ?
Note to Stacy: billionaires like former resident Ken Griffen are moving to Florida. Suggest you hit up JB.
What part of “No” doesn’t Stacy understand. No wonder our kids can’t read, write or speak proper English.
Some people haven’t heard the word “ no “ ever in their entire lives.
Ms Stacy talks like someone who’s always just signed the backs of checks. How about the CTU and it’s members cover the difference? CTU Bosses can wait a few months for their new Escalade to show solidarity with the kids and parents.
