A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Pritzker has no right to compare Illinois to Indiana. Indiana has a super majority and a budget surplus for 2026 and 2027. Not the case in Illinois. Until then, maybe Jabba can focus on work he should be doing instead of continually treating his DJT syndrome. Gerrymandering won’t help taxpayers nor will it keep people from moving out.
Illinois voters don’t support a “budget surplus” or fiscal responsibility. They support candidates that promise them they will oppose Trump, candidates that promise more spending. promises that someone else will pay.
The average voter doesn’t care about a balanced budget. They want to know what’s in it for them.
Correction: 54% of Illinois voters….you shouldn’t generalize. It’s not the average voter either. It’s a specific population of voters slightly over the majority.
A distinction without a difference so no correction needed.. The majority is all that matters. If the majority doesn’t support fiscal discipline then neither do the politicians. Aligning with the majority is how you win elections.
So yes, as I previously stated, the voters don’t support fiscal responsibility. Hopefully playing semantics helps you feel better though.
Trump got more than 43% of the vote in Illinois. Illinois has 17 seats in congress- of which only 3 are republicans. See how it works!?? And fat boy wants to eliminate the 3.
Independent and Republican voters are already not represented. If you live in suburban Cook County, you’re most likely “represented” by a Democrat from Chicago, and your state “representative” is a Chicago Democrat. I have Casten who voted no prohibit non citizens from voting in Washington DC. He does not represent US citizens. Any more Democratic gerrymandering will leave about 40% of IL taxpayers without any representation. I thought taxation without representation was illegal, or it should be.
You not getting your way doesn’t mean it’s taxation without representation. You got a vote but so did your neighbors in Downers Grove. They chose differently than you. Suck it up.

This candidate wins the election-there are more people who live north of 63rd St, and they vote enthusiastically. The person who lives on 75th St has no right to be upset. It was a fair vote, and his neighbors are entitled to their preferences. Democracy at work.
Trump’s chaos may seep into Illinois where we get to smother it.
Everything isn’t about Trump. You think that the people of Illinois are not smart enough to know when the state government is against them and could decide on their own and that merging down state counties with Indiana would provide them a better more fair representation? The state legislature last week just hosed the tax payers even more and stole money intended for road repairs in downstate counties for give aways that only benefit a few in chicago. Trump doesn’t have to tell us when we are getting hosed.
