As part of their study of the 100 largest cities, WalletHub researchers compared 30-driver-friendliness indicators across categories that include costs, congestion and safety with Chicago ranking 96th overall, including 99th for traffic and infrastructure and 76th for safety. Researchers also weighed such variables as gas prices, insurance rates and road quality.

Chicago is one of the best cities to get a catalytic converter stolen.
Since 2019, over 17,000 catalytic converters have been stolen, with only 34 arrests reported.–Sun-Times, June 9, 2023. Happens in all neighborhoods. If you happen to catch the thief in the act, a violent confrontation can ensue.
Chicago has it all: traffic jams, road rage, carjackings, catalytic converter theft, and the most crooked unethical car salesmen in the country. (Last part is my own opinion.) And let’s not forget all the hit-and-runs. But you have to drive because the CTA is now too dangerous!!!
But hey, no worries. Tolls are increasing by $.45 each. No better roads or traffic, just more tax. And you say you’re not slaves?
You’re not a slave. Not even close. It’s pathetic that anyone would try and make such a comparison. You are free to not drive on those roads. You are free to move to another state if you don’t like Illinois. Nothing about optional taxes aligns with slavery. You are paying for taxes that your elected leaders implemented. The voters want this otherwise they would vote differently.
You are right. I left Illinois because I didn’t like the thought of being a slave to degenerates, thieves and leeches. Apparently most Illinoisans, including you, like it. Stay and enjoy. God Bless. There is a misconception that all slaves were whipped and made to do hard labor. Many had a fair degree of freedom, wore nice clothes, ate fairly well and were even paid. It was still slavery and it was still evil and when given half a chance they would run. But slavery took many forms. Illinois is just one version.

Those slaves didn’t vote for slavery even though you tell us it wasn’t that bad. Comparing one of the most horrific things done in American History to high taxes that are implemented by elected leaders that the people chose is beyond ridiculous.
