According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, 59-year-old Vance Patton has now been sentenced to prison 25 times, with convictions dating back to the 1980s. His convictions include 20 burglaries spanning the decades, as well as convictions for possessing a stolen vehicle, criminal damage to property, and possession of burglary tools.
Reminds me of the Panzco brothers as chronicled by Mike Royko and others a half century or more ago..

One more term in prison will surely change this career criminal’s path in life. After all of the convictions concurrent terms were given meaning this community menace will be back on the streets shortly.

The fact that this guy stole piddly amounts ( who breaks into a place to steal $1 and sodas?) makes me think that he enjoys being in the slammer and will use as much of the generous rope IL provides him to get there.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
