Mayor Brandon Johnson urges state to expedite transit funding after woman set on fire on Blue Line – CBS2 (Chicago)

Johnson said his administration is eyeing changes to address housing and mental health, but stopped short of committing to deploying more officers on the CTA, or efforts to ensure fewer unhoused users riding the CTA only for short-term shelter. "I think it's too early to speculate about what that absolutely looks like, but again the funding from Springfield is the most important thing. Without that funding, then none of this would be visibilized," the mayor said.

This guy is a moron. He is too stupid to even know what the solution is…he is talking about unhoused and short term shelters… to address the violence on CTA. WTF?! Putting more and more cops on the trains is one thing, but keeping these nutballs off the street is also the first step. Both should be done at the same time. How can anyone be so stupid as to not see that.

The mayor can “visibilize” all he wants, but unless he’s willing to put more cops on the trains, all he’s doing is creating more temporary housing..

Forget the money, repeal the Safe T act. Arrest, convict, and jail criminals.

Yep BJ- your favorite song “ More money! Don’t be racist and give it up!”. That will correct the problem of letting repeat offenders walk around doing whatever they want per your plans of empty jails and equity for “ the most generous folks.”.

More money for a failing transit dinosaur won’t fix the soft on crime policies that IL Democrats have put in place — the policies that let a career criminal out of jail to burn a woman alive on a subway train.
