Shouldn’t the names and punishments be made public to deter others? Offenders should lose jobs and pensions and benefits plus reimburse any payments they or related parties received. We could go further and make these debts non-dischargeable in bankruptcy. many (not all) of the perps had overpaid cushy jobs to begin with! Any contract or statutory protections should be repealed or negotiated away. What is owed to anyone who breaches trust like this … Biting the hand that feeds you?

So, a cool 1M pilfered by government employees in a state starving for revenue. Sounds like 500 job openings and 500 new residents of Stateville to me for committing a Federal crime.
