Ald. Nicole Lee (11th) seems more concerned about her future pension checks than anything else.

Alderpeople don’t want to sell city debt. That’s a no brainer, if your efforts can’t collect it then sell it, or get a collection agency to collect it for you. I doubt the city has good numbers on the amount and aging of the debt they want to sell. If they do it’s very easy to get quotes on what that sale might bring and then you can put it out to bid. Not making an effort to collect it is just a slap in the face to all the residents that pay their city of Chicago obligations.
