Mayor Johnson vows to do ‘whatever it takes’ to avoid a city government shutdown – Chicago Sun-Times

But Johnson reiterated Thursday that his biggest beef remains the decision to replace the corporate head tax with more than $90 million in “enhanced debt collections on everyday Chicagoans.” He calls it “immoral” and “simply not feasible.”

How about cutting staffing at Chicago Public Schools?

Ok, Mayor Cliff Notes.

Cut expenses.

Start with all freebies for illegal immigrants, then cut across the board.

This is what ‘anything’ looks like, Mayor Notes.

“ Whatever it takes “.. except for getting rid of nine vice mayors ( at 125 K/ year? ) each, a 150 person security detail, closing schools like Emmanuel had the courage to do, getting rid of a “ violence interruptors “ program comprised of felons and costing the city Lord knows how much, disbanding social services programs that do nothing except put money in connected pockets of “ the most generous folks on the planet “etc. Unequivocally the most racist, unintelligent mayor in America.

Add to the list closing under used schools that are 95% empty but still principals, asst principals, nurse, librarian, building engineer, office staff, full compliment of teachers and aides. This is a dream because CTU and their servant, Mayor Nervous Breakdown, will never do that.

Braindead Whatever it takes ? Hmm How about a resignation and allowing competent people run the city in a cost efficient way ? Put your money ( taxpayer money ) where your mouth is

Chicago is unwilling to charge their residents even 1/2 what it costs to take away their garbage and it’s 100’s of millions. Peter simply can’t pay for everyone else anymore.

Never spending cuts. We can’t expect them to steal less. How will they survive. The corruption must go on.

Yep. Negotiating a bloated budget without considering significant spending cuts is not responsibly representing Chicago taxpayers.
