Supposedly the new police,presence on the CTA is not coming from the CPD budget and therefore will not be reflected in the often criticized overtime issue but will come the the failing CTA budget that is going to be supplemented via increased tolls and taking much of downstate road funds. Gee what a great idea!
But the cops won’t do anything unless they see it. I’ve been mugged on the train and they simply told me unless they see it, they can only question not arrest anyone. I had my phone taken. Eventually the idiot switched it on, it signaled me, I called the police who were able to retrieve it and of course, they would not press charges and said, I could take it to the civil courts. Really, you have camera evidenced and you can’t be arsed to use it? This is a waste of money and time
Here’s the plan- a connected firm gets the contract. Soon, employees of said firm begin replacing the CPD because they are only capable of riding around with smelly unhoused people all day and won’t give a foot chase ( as ordered not to by “ Yes Boss “ Snelling ) , therefore eliminating the real police and giving Johnson the holistic police force he wants comprised of overweight females and dreadlocked dudes casually dressed and stinking of weed. That’s Brandon’s idea of law enforcement.

Actually suggested by a CPD member and not beyond the realm of possibility. Hasn’t Brandon already stocked his office with homies and cronies, none of whom seem to be intelligent or qualified.
Complete waste of money. The process stinks. Step 1 needs to be the Courts need to stop releasing criminals and nutjobs back on the street and ultimately onto the trains. Stops the flow. At the same time deploy the Police on the trains to provide visible security and protection. But, just spending the overtime to put Police on the trains while the Courts continue to release criminals over and over again is futile. Never gunna win that war. So the CPD gets to work in some of the crappiest areas, risking their life. Then on their days off they can sign up to patrol the CTA, risking their life.
Where are these officers coming from? They aren’t coming from Pinhead’s private security detail. SO they are being taken out of the neighborhoods. Pretty soon, there will be no police at all patrolling the northwest and southwest sides. After all, those people are not his constituents.
So, they admit there’s a problem? The Civil Right’s hustlers like to toute CR’s everywhere they look, but you know what’s a civil right? The Right to safely ride public transportation! Transportation that society pay’s for but’s been destroyed by a small percentage of the usual usualls. How about the death penalty for anyone who commits violence on Public Transportation? That would be a good start. Do it for the environment liberals…don’t you care about the environment?
