Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.

What is leaves out is states like Texas, Tennessee and Florida have seen the wisdom of eliminating income tax entirely. DeSantis and Abbot would welcome IL enacting a sliding scale income tax since the rates won’t be part of a constitutional amendment.
As an escapee from IL, I’d be more than happy to see a progressive tax passed, and hopefully live long enough to see the consequences. More middle class leaving as tax burden falls on them, retirees pensions taxed, and tax rates manipulated. Should be good for a couple more laughs. Meanwhile, here in my red state, I see property taxes lowered, state income tax lowered and soon to disappear.
