Judge orders Dolton to raise taxes, fees to pay $33.5M verdict over cop chase – Legal Newsline

In the 2024 lawsuit, attorneys for the families asserted the court needed to step in to ensure the verdict was paid "amid a complete breakdown of the Village of Dolton's accounting internal controls, and checks and balances," leading to governmental insolvency in the village.

I could see the city ignoring the order. Note to ambulance chasers: Make sure your deep pockets target doesn’t have a big hole in it.

Truth in Cook County

So the cook county judge says Dolton has no higher duty than to pay out the verdict. Really – providing essential services to citizens is below paying out in this legal scam perpetrated by a shady law firm? Is there one competent judge in cook county at this time? I would recommend all the Village officials just resign, and let the judge figure it out.

“On Feb. 20, Cook County Circuit Judge William B. Sullivan issued an order enforcing a jury verdict, declaring the village of Dolton “has no higher duty than to pay” the amount to the families of John Christopher Kyles and Duane Dunlap.”

Nope. You are confusing my past statements as to how the law would handle this with what the judge actually said. I keep telling you what will happen. Better start believing me.

“The village… has no higher duty than to pay” sounds a lot like your comments. Maybe I’m mistaking your forecasts for your beliefs?
