With state mandate looming, small businesses struggle to find skilled workers – Center Square

A state mandate requiring foreign language instruction in high school is scheduled to take effect in 2027. One McHenry business owner said the requirement could force students out of programs focused on the building trades and courses like welding and machining.

Shortage of skilled workers in IL can be attributed to the poor public school education in IL. Public schools more interested in indoctrination, not education.

Hooray! Let’s waste even more taxpayers money teaching in a myriad of languages to people from all over the globe instead of doing the sensible thing and teaching them to understand and speak English. Those that are too flexible become doormats.
