The suit, filed in U.S. district court in Chicago, among other things called the administration's action "arbitrary and capricious" in violation of a federal law called the Administrative Procedure Act. It said the administration's purported justification of the freeze – to ensure nondiscrimination in federal transportation funding programs - "is pretextual, and the freeze was instead based on political retaliation."
The Red Line Extension itself is the arbitrary and capricious part of this suit. That it duplicates existing and very much less expensive transit operations is bad enough. The per-mile cost of this mess should have stopped it before it hit the platform. That it was approved during the completely out-of-control spending Autopen years is telling. Yes, I absolutely agree the red line extension should have never been approved. This project is just another example in Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois of the incredible abuse Illinois taxpayers continually experience.

Just giving thieves and muggers more time to commit crime . That extra 20 minutes is worth 3 wallets ,cellphones and a good beat down or 2
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
