1,000s of Chicago MS, HS Students Expected to Join May 1 Union-Driven Day of Action – The 74 Million

Joseph Graciosa, a computer science teacher at Solorio Academy High School, said that May 1 at his building will begin with an assembly about the history of May Day and the power of students in education reform. Discussions will highlight the impact of recent immigration raids on the school’s community.

Mr. Graciosa (computer Science Teacher – uh huh) How about you teach little johnny how to add and subtract? How to multiply and divide. Read a sentence. Spell. Compose a proper sentence in English. Conduct real science classes. Teach them about the United States and the government. Teach them about the history of the founding of this country. All of this is fascinating stuff for a student to learn from…an actual teacher. Give them a foundation of learning and how to learn.
