"Subsidizing individual decisions that do not generate a public good or service — even legitimate ones well within the rights of, in this case, the parents making them — is an inappropriate use of public money."
Spoken like a CPS graduate. Nevermind the kids might learn to read and write, something that is not afforded many in chicago public schools.

Can’t anyone shut Ralph up? He and his center are not nonpartisan. He always espouses the Democrat and union party line. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this program provides a tax credit on contributors tax filing. Funds are not provided for the individuals and funds not taken from public education. It’s also hard to believe the claims that private education students don’t do better than public school students.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
