Tax hike threat looms as Illinois budget deadline nears – Illinois Policy

One of the clearest red flags in the budget process is the growing divide between Gov. JB Pritzker’s revenue assumptions and more cautious projections from the General Assembly’s Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (COGFA) and Pritzker’s own Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB). COGFA and GOMB estimates this month predict revenue will be $720 million to $900 million short of what Pritzker has forecast.

Illinois is the highest-taxed state in the country, and they’re thinking of raising our taxes.

Was there ever any real doubt? Of course tax hikes loom. They always have and always will in Illinois as long as you elect blood sucking leeches cycle in and cycle out. Just admit that most of you like it that way.

Revenue is $900 million short of forecasts. Laughable when hundreds of millions are spent on EV factories, incentives for data centers and bloated pensions Maybe JB and dems shouldn’t have kept the grifters and let all those taxpayers leave. In case the dems didn’t get the memo, Illinoisans are taxed out. The freebies need to stop.
