Prosecutors claimed that Rashad Johnson, 18, intentionally hit the officers and said his possession of an illegal 30-round MAC-10 pistol proved he is a danger to the community at large. “I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially to people that are young and have no criminal history,” Judge Ankur Srivastava said. “But it’s not like you didn’t know how to drive and accidentally hit the accelerator … I think you made a choice, and your choices endangered people’s lives. You have hurt a lot of people.”
Rashad Johnson. Until you can openly discuss what is obvious to all but the truly delusional, nothing will change. Even on Wirepoints the discussion is muted or censored for fear of being called the dreaded R word.

Damn! So there IS some level of violence that will persuade a Crook County judge to keep a perp locked up.I’m shocked. Not shocked, shocked, just really shocked.Who knew?

Nothing of consequence will happen to this thug as some egg headed psychologist will pop up and chirp some nonsense about his brain not being developed, his mental health and his unfortunate upbringing and a lib judge will admonish him and turn him loose after a token incarceration. It’s a big, horrible joke.

Why would staying jailed even be controversial in the situation? If this man is found guilty of attempted murder of our civil servants, he should spend many years in prison. The repeated ramming shows it was intentional.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
