Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
The Socialist takeover begins with the denigration of a country’s history. Actual heroes are erased and replaced with lesser examples, although ones more amenable to the leftist cause.
Might as well rename the Pilsen neighborhood. That refers to the now-unacceptable Germans (aka ‘whitey’) who settled there.
How pitiful.
I have visited Gettysburg three times over the past six years.(rainy and cold each time, so shortened visits) I always send the Robert E Lee statue pic to my kids, thinking it may be the last time I see it.
“…the killing of George Floyd…”
Career criminal George Floyd killed himself by overdosing on drugs, resisting arrest, and having a heart attack while being lawfully detained using a police-approved technique (for his own protection), while waiting for an ambulance, which the police called for him!
There shouldn’t be any changes to monuments unless the bird brains trying to replace them have actually learned about American history and the sacrifices those men made to make this country great.
That’s not the problem, IMO. It’s that they genuinely hate America.
Communism has to get rid of those representing America’s past by removing statues of the past and start fresh with statues of those representing the communist ideology
Yes, they are commies, but it’s even more basic than this. The new ruling class doesn’t see your history as their history, and they don’t care to preserve any of it for posterity’s sake. Because as Mark says above, they hate America. A million examples throughout history prove this point.
“ Sharing history “ is acceptable so long as the “ sharing “ isn’t based solely on a last name or something equally spurious. And be mindful that the new additions have the capacity to eventually move the original subjects of the pieces aside and then eliminate them altogether. Stalin’s Russia elevated the practice of “ replacing “ non- communist historical figures by eliminating statues and pictures of them to the point of threatening punishment for the mere mention of their names, much like the Pharaoh did to Moses re the movie “The Ten Commandments.”.
We can’t wait for these to show up. The so
called monuments should be interesting,
Joseph Stalin, Putin, Lenin, Stoly Votka,
