Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I feel his pain. I am a member of the predominant racial group in the US and a basketball fan; but the NBA does not have a single team where the White Race outnumbers minorities. This is pure discrimination and I urge a boycott until this is remedied. Maybe until there is a systemic overhaul we can just award automatic points to players based on skin color.
I won’t comment on the racial aspects of this because regardless of race, these licenses will be handed out in true Illinois style to the politically connected.

This is issue needs a pilot project. Give out 6 free licenses, good for six months — three white owners and three black owners. Put their retail outlets on convenient bus routes or at crowded intersections. State agency gives out discount coupons through a fair process administered at local welfare offices. These coupons can only be used at the six stores. Discount coupons can be redeemed by holders in exchange for honestly-graded grass, at face value. Politicians (especially in IL) are completely divorced from reality. They believe that because (in their minds) they know what’s best for us, there must be something wrong when real people don’t think the same way they do. Rational people understand human nature. Many on the left, on the other hand, think everything is relative and that there are no absolute truths. It’s how socialism has made so many inroads. I mean you do need to pay a $5k non refundable fee and have a million in assets to even apply for a license (for some stupid reason)
but never let a “crisis” go to waste is these politicians mantra, they loooooove claiming racism for every single thing, its so easy, you can twist it to fit your agenda so easily
This. And in invoking “my opponent is racist” it becomes easy to pretend that you represent the moral high ground. Factor in a couple generations who have been told that human nature is just a man made construct and you have the perfect recipe for our current toxic political climate.
