A statewide concern: Illinois’ population decline outpaces neighboring states – Wirepoints on ABC20 Champaign
“We are not in good shape” Wirepoints’ Ted Dabrowski told ABC 20 Champaign during a segment on Illinois’ latest population losses. Illinois was one of just three states to shrink in the 2010-2020 period and has lost another 300,000 people since then. Ted says things need to change. “It’s too expensive to live here, there aren’t enough good jobs and nobody trusts the government anymore. There’s just other places to go where you can be more satisfied.”
Lawlessness often precedes a major power grab. If the problem doesn’t exist, create one. Then you just have to appear when the time is right with a solution to that problem. It’s quite similar to a mafia protection racket, really.
So in this case, the solution will be an authoritarian one. And the useful idiots clamoring for relief will accept it with open arms, realizing only when it’s too late that they’ve been taken for a ride. Sadly, this realization usually occurs (if ever) when one’s back has been introduced to the nearest wall.
The lefty’s will all want to abolish the police, but only in the poor neighborhoods. Those north shore limousine liberals will make for themselves a very well policed neighborhood. Policies of the left always further the divide, then they complain how wide the divide is. The colleges have now thought the students that denying a group police protection is somehow giving them something. Deny police and the citizens will have no choice but to arm themselves, but of course that would be denied too! But not to worry because everyplace is declared a gun free zone, except for rich lefty’s… Read more »
My solution of total police abolishment would take care of them to. The more I think of the idea the more I like it.
What about abolishing the politicians? The laws they pass only benefit a select few at the expense of the many such as “shall not impair or diminish” which pertains only to public employee pensions not private ones. Laws like the “pension intercept” are created which hurts local municipalities then in turn must raise tax’s and/or cut services to comply to the detriment of the general public. Regardless if a pension is 1% funded or 100% every pensioner still get their full checks but not so in the private industry.
Yes, I think Artificial Intelligence could easily manage all the basics that government is suppose to provide, no corruption!
I started to write a comment, but this is such a idiotic idea, no discussion is warrented.
Abolishing the police might have some merit in Chicago. Consider that if the Chicago police were abolished many of Chicago’s problems would solve themselves one way or another in the long run. Might be worth a try…certainly the other, current, way isn’t working.
It was the police (or the Feds more precisely) that clamped down on the heads of the major gangs years back and put the main gang leaders in jail. That crated a huge vacuum that was filled by the cartel that controlled the drug distribution to the hyper local, mostly young gang bangers that now that shoot each other up fighting over street corners, social media beefs and hoes. The cartels now control the distribution and it’s the local bangers that sell on the corners. My point is that if the police were abolished, we’d all be paying protection money… Read more »
Still, might be cheaper than paying the police union salaries, health care and pensions.
That would only apply to the the people that decide to stay there. Chicago is already losing people as it is so lets let it go wild, the decent people can move out leaving the politicians and the liberals that encouraged all of the situation to sit in the stew pot together. I originally posted that on a humorous note but now, the more I think about it, might just be the only solution that will work. One thing for sure the way things are going now the old tried and true isn’t cutting the mustard.
When you think of demands to lower the voting age, the size of aggregate education loans owed by younger people and their indoctrination by tenured faculty of the left, it is a dismal thought to contemplate the next presidential/congressional elections. Free everything, abolition of the electoral college, rule by disgruntled Californians whose public pensions are in jeopardy, citizenship for the undocumented and rule by the booboisie. HLM R.I.P. “It’s been 60 years almost to the day (Jan. 29) since the death of H. L. Mencken, Baltimore’s venerated iconoclast, whose contributions to a vast catalog of journalism and literature distinguished him… Read more »
Do it!
I agree. Everyone I used to know in Chicago has left so this social experiment intrigues me. Have at it !!!
