All Illinois Democrats in U.S. House vote against bill requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. All Republicans vote for it. – Wirepoints Quickpoint

The U.S. House passed a bill Thursday to require voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote. It’s called the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

It passed the House by a vote of 220 to 208 with all Republicans voting for the bill. Democrats voting agains the bill say it would only create hurdles for eligible voters without actually improving fraud protection. Republicans say it would assure noncitizens would not vote.

All Democrats from Illinois in the House voted against the bill (Reps. Garcia, Davis, Jackson, Ramirez, Schakowsky, Budzinski, Casten, Foster, Kelly, Krishnamoorthi, Quigley, Schneider, Sorenson and Underwood).

All Illinois Republicans in the House voted for the bill (Reps. Bost, LaHood and Miller).

Just four Democrats from other states voted for the act (Reps. Golden of Maine, Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, Case of Hawaii and Cuellar of Texas).

I used to call my liberal acquaintances “contrarians” because they disagreed with every common sense law or requirement that was being proposed or enacted. Contrarians because if a Republican would point North they would say no, thats South. They would disagree about everything as they believed they were correct about everything and the smartest person around. Up was down, north was south, the sky wasn’t blue and if entering the political arena forget it because they convoluted everything to fit the liberal agenda. In the first line I said I once called them contrarians because I no longer associate with… Read more »

The fact that a bill is needed for a common sense issue, tells you everything you need to know about todays politics.

Again politicians vote on “Party” lines. Same for both sides. My question is – Where do the politicians loyalties lie? Better yet where should they lie? The Party or the Constituents? Are the wishes of the voters being answered? OR are the pols loyalties with the Party only? Are the voters in any district asked by online surveys/phone calls as to what is expected from them? Once in office the reasons they were voted in for are different. New bills presented that should have voter input but have no say. What happens to a pol if they vote against the… Read more »

Our citizenship is worth less for every illegal alien in this country.

What is their logical argument? That blacks and Mexicans are too stupid to obtain an ID? Is there any logical argument at all to defend their position? Or is it just “we want it this way” with nothing to back it? Is there a secret logical argument here they choose not to disclose outright?

It’s a nice try by national Republicans. But some of your heads will explode the moment Illinois, California, etc, just declare they have already checked the citizenship status of everyone who votes and a future Democrat president just says, “Yep,” and blocks any attempt to challenge it.

You most certainly will be correct that this will be attempted. However, it is now effective as law and had to be done. Now it is up to the GOP to have the guts to fight it when the DEMS do as you say.

It passed the house but it’s not a law. Try watching some school house rock, “I’m just a bill”.

It will also pass the Senate and the President will sign it.

2026 political commercials of every Democrat participating in this anti democracy filibuster need to run over and over and over again to toss every one of these vermin out of office and achieve a 66R/34D Senate.

Care to provide a list of Senators that will cross over and vote for it?

Typical Democrats-for illegals and criminals and against legal and law abiding citizens.

It would be easier to send the ballots to their countries before they get here. Then they can vote in our elections saving them time and money to come here.

It’s incredibly sad that nearly every Democrat voted against election integrity. Very sad commentary on Democrats.

Here’s a thought; check voter eligibility rolls against death certificates.

I very much hope this will become law. Any argument against it falls flat in the face of common sense. Adding to that, the feds should ensure that a state issued ID is free for everyone through federal funding and develop outreach to ensure every citizen has easy access. This would remove all semi-logical objections Dems may attempt going forward.

Of course Illinois votes to not require a basic acknowledgement of your eligibility to vote – Proof of Citizenship. Nah, who needs to confirm something as trivial as that? Democrats are transparent in the way they vote proving that they are in favor of inaccurate elections, because they can’t win a fair race. Cheating is the name of their game. Pathetic.

Spot on and absolutely true. Plus Vote multiple times and have the dead vote as well. All true, no conspiracy here. Democrats don’t deserve Democracy and let’s call them what they are: Tyrannical Scum.
