American Federation of Teachers place politics, leader priorities over members – Illinois Policy

Union accounting shows just 36 percent of its spending was on representing teachers in 2025, while it spent more than $41 million on politics - including $1.5 million to For Our Future Action Fund, which bills itself as “committed to serving progressive values.”

A current financial statement from the AFT? Stacy Davis Gates first order of business for the Illinois Federation of Teachers will be to put a stop to that nonsense.

CTU is a political activist group, and should be designated as one. They don’t care about quality education, students, or even teacher members. CTU is about power and money. The DOJ needs to investigate them.
